As a photographer, I like to collect images rather than create images.  I collect images I find interesting either in terms of composition, content, the emotions they represent, or their human symbolism.  I believe my images are ones that the viewer may find as interesting but otherwise would not have taken note of had I not captured them and brought them to their attention. I prefer to capture images of the human figure preferably without judgment or interpretation. – David L. Cohen

The photographer projects himself into everything he sees, identifying himself with everything in order to know it and to feel it better. – Minor White

Photography, though not an art form in itself, has the peculiar capacity to turn all its subjects into works of art. – Susan Sontag

I longed to arrest all beauty that came before me, and at length the longing has been satisfied. – Julia Margaret Cameron

It is no accident that the photographer becomes a photographer any more than the lion tamer becomes a lion tamer. – Dorothea Lange
